≤25% luminous reflectance for side/back windows; mirrored or mirror-like finishes are excluded from the statutory definition of allowed 'glass coating material' altogether (effectively banned outright)

Medical exemption
Apply to DPS Medical Standards Unit with a physician (licensed under 59 O.S. §495) attestation; Commissioner of Public Safety may grant an exemption below the standard 25%/25%. Per DPS's own exemption form, Oklahoma Administrative Code caps how dark an exemption can go at not darker than 15% VLT, and any grant below 20% VLT may carry a 'daylight driving only' license restriction.
Stickers & certification
No physical vehicle sticker for standard installs; the person who sells/installs regulated tint must provide a bold-face written certification (part of the sales/install contract) that the product meets the reflectivity/transmittance standard and that installing it on the driver's/passenger's window may be illegal in other states

Notes
A separate legacy exemption (§12-422.D.10) allows 10% VLT / ≤25% reflectance on windows behind the driver, but ONLY for vehicles manufactured before the 1996 model year AND equipped with dual outside mirrors meeting a 200-ft visibility spec — an age-based carve-out, not a sedan-vs-SUV distinction. Louvered rear-window materials may not reduce driver visibility below 50% measured on a horizontal plane via the rearview mirror.
Oklahoma tint questions
What is the darkest legal tint in Oklahoma?
For a sedan in Oklahoma, front side windows must let at least 25% of light through, back side windows at least 25%, and the rear window at least 25%. Lower VLT means darker glass, so those percentages are floors, not targets, and the meter reads the film and the factory glass together.
Is 20% tint legal in Oklahoma?
No, not on the front side windows. Oklahoma requires at least 25% VLT there and 20% is darker than that, before you even account for the factory glass, which makes the reading darker still. The back side windows have a 25% floor, so 20% is too dark there too.
Can I tint the windshield in Oklahoma?
